Porsche has designed a new folding roof for the 2012 Cabriolet, which features a fabric-skinned composite panel for the top and back bits of the roof and magnesium in the frame, giving a much smoother appearance than a traditional folding roof.
Former Rolls-Royce chief designer Ian Cameron is the latest recipient of the Welsh Motoring Writers (WMW) Automotive Achievement Award. The award was presented at the WMW annual dinner at HMS Nelson's Wardroom in Portsmouth, UK, by the group's patron and former winner, Land Rover director of design Richard Woolley. THREE QUARTERS of drivers in the UK say there should be no more additional costs for those driving a diesel car. Under proposals for Ultra Low Emissions Zones (ULEZ), diesel car drivers would be charged more to drive in towns and cities across the UK. With the possibility of ULEZs becoming widespread by 2020, 75.4% of drivers in the UK say they object to this plan and are not prepared to pay more to use their car.
